Per S. Ovesen was born in Copenhagen in 1960. He received his training as a violin maker, at the internationally known Newark School of Violin Making, in England.

Before his graduation in 1986, he was awarded a Certificate of Distinction for Tonal Qualities in the cello making section of the "Facta Britannia" competitions.

From the Newark School he joined the distinguished firm of J.P.Guivier of London, followed by five years in Japan, working as the workshop manager of a leading Japanese company.

During his time in Japan, Per S. Ovesen worked closely with numerous string players from all the major symphony orchestras, as well as free-lance professionals, on tasks ranging from minor repairs and sound adjustments to major restoration work.

In June 2004 Per S. Ovesen relocated part of his company to Singapore where  under the name of

  

he continues to deal in fine violins, violas, cellos & bows, as well as making new instruments to order.
Inspired by the classical Italian tradition Mr. Ovesen fashions both detailed reproductions and standard instrument as well as buying and selling fine old stringed instruments and bows.
